How To Get Google Reviews

Acquiring Google reviews on your business page is arguably the best and easiest way to market yourself, so you can get new clients.

  • More reviews help create your image as a successful and trusted local PT

  • Your business appears higher on Google and Google Maps

  • Become the go to trainer for clients searching your niche

Step 1: Visit your Google Business Page

Click on the link here: https://business.google.com

Step 2: Copy Google review link

Once on your Google Business page, in the Home section, find the “Get more reviews” block.

Copy this link by clicking on it or by copying the text.

Step 3: Setting up your script

We need to build a message that is going to prompt people to leave you a nice review. We want this message to make leaving a review as easy as possible for whoever we are asking.

Here is an example script you can use, feel free to add changes to your liking or just copy it as it is.

Important! Replace areas with ** around them

Hey **their name**,

Could you please leave a review on my business page? The 5 star ratings really help boost my rankings on Google.

If you could mention **something specific you have trained together** and anything else you have particularly enjoyed about our training I would be so appreciative.

Also if you can add the words “Personal Training”/“Personal Trainer” and “Wellington” to your review that would help my ranking even more.

Click here to leave a review -> **paste Google Review link here**

All the best,

**your name**.

Step 4: Send out the message

Here’s the most important step, sending out this message to everyone and anyone. The more people you can get to leave you reviews, the more recognised and popular your business will become, the more new clients you will receive.

I recommend using Email, but you can also use messenger or text.

I would avoid asking people face to face, they will almost definitely forget or not know the steps of how to leave you a review.

Send it to:

  • Friends and family

  • Existing clients

  • Past clients

  • Co-workers or anyone who has been associated with your business in anyway

FAQ’s

I feel awkward reaching out to these people. How Do I start?

Feel uncomfortable, awkward, or too shy to ask people for reviews? Don’t worry all of us do, but honestly the people you ask aren’t going to mind, in fact most people will jump at the chance to help you.

If you feel really nervous about it, start with people you are closest with and build up your confidence from there.

Worst case scenario, someone reads your message and forgets about it or ignores it, no big deal.

I’ve asked this person for a review but they still haven’t done it. What Do i Do?

If you see them in person you can give them a light reminder when you see them next. Otherwise you can send them a friendly reminder email, if they still don’t leave you a review after that I would just leave it, you don’t want to come across too pushy.
