Wellington Barbell Strength Workshops

Expert Movement Breakdowns

Each month we deep dive into key elements of a barbell lift, breaking down the mechanics of squatting, deadlifting, bench pressing, and more. Whether you’re refining the basics or troubleshooting sticking points in your movement, you’ll walk away with tools you can immediately apply in your training.

Supportive COMMUNITY

Train alongside like minded people who take their training seriously, but still know how to have fun. It’s a space where encouragement is the norm and everyone wants to see each other succeed.

Small Groups, Big Progress

Each workshop is capped at just 12 people to ensure you get plenty of individual attention and coaching.

Why Join The Barbell Strength Club?

Learn to Train Smarter

Every workshop is built around teaching you skills you can carry into your own training. You’ll learn functional anatomy, how to assess your technique, understand programming principles, and make informed decisions about your progress; not just how to follow a workout.

Coaching You Can Trust

Our experienced coaches bring years of personal lifting, coaching, and competitive experience to the table. You'll gain insights drawn from working with hundreds of clients, so you can avoid common mistakes and accelerate your own journey.

Get Stronger, in a sustainable way

Strength training isn’t just about lifting as heavy as you can, all the time. It’s about thoughtful training, with periodised purpose, intention, and longevity in mind. We’ll help you build muscle, improve joint function, and develop confidence under the bar in a way that supports your goals; whether it’s for your powerlifting goals or for life.

Meet your Strength coaches

Adam Thomson

Powerlifting Coach

When I started training more seriously for strength training, and eventually powerlifting, I was always on the lookout for opportunities to enhance my understanding of the body. How to improve my technique, reduce the likelihood of injuries, and understand the intricacies of each lift. Now, through years of training myself and clients to get strong safely, I want to pass this knowledge along to other intermediate lifters in a consistent & structured format.

  • Identifying ways to test and improve strength and range of motion in the shoulders

  • Applying this all to be able to execute a stronger and more comfortable squat
